RAW Australia Showcase

Throughout July I spent every spare moment with a paint brush in my hand and an idea in my mind. It was an intense month of planning, drawing and painting. When the date finally arrived, and I gathered all my work and prepared myself for my first public showcase.

It can be difficult as an artist to see the totality of your work, to fully comprehend all the late nights, all the scribbles and frustrating ideas, finally here in front of you ready for the public eye. It was only with the continuous support and help from numerous close people that I was able to present so confidently at RAW.

It was an incredible experience to be surrounded by other artists, also proudly presenting their artistic endeavours. This experience has allowed me to expand my skill set and confidence in the artistic realm and to gather a strong sense of the art community. I am so grateful to be a RAW member and to of shared this night with many special people!

In the next few weeks, I will be updating my online store so that canvas’ and prints can be purchased online. Keep your eye out and subscribe so you don’t miss any updates.

Tahlia is a Melbourne based visual artist and writer. Her work is primarily acrylic on canvas, inspired by the human form and movement. This art expresses fluidity, connection to self, nature, and the combination of all three. These works encourage the viewer to find the reflecting nature of beauty and stillness in our core self and the external world.

I am drawn to the lively energy and light, deft touch in your work Tahlia. You seem to be contemplating and representing complex thoughts and ideas but in a manner that is engaging and non-threatening. Initially one tries to imagine what story you would provide for each piece but I found the fluid nature of your art quickly stimulated my own contemplations and reflections and I enjoyed the feeling of letting my mind drift along these currents while gazing at your works. . I am looking forward to seeing more.
